Im using Turbo Tax Deluxe.

Why doesn't my $10K contribution to a 529 acct for my daughter reduce my NY State tax by even one penny?

If you're still in the federal portion of your tax return entry, you would not see this "move the needle" on your state taxes. When you get to State > New York > Deductions and Credits, you will be prompted to enter your contributions to qualified 529 higher education savings plans, at which point your state return will be re-calculated with the deduction for 529 plan contributions.
