I made four check payments of $1,156.00 to OHIO Treas of State. Please enter for my Ohio Report.

Were they the quarterly estimated payments?

To enter Federal or State Estimated Taxes Paid, including a state estimated payment made in January for the prior year, go to

Federal on left or at top (Personal for Home & Business)

Deductions and Credits

Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid

Estimates - click the Start or Update button

I read a post that you may have to expand or go to Other common situations. Or maybe uncommon situations. Or look for More Tax Breaks.

You enter state estimated payments under the federal side (because they can be a federal itemized Deduction). THEN after you finish filling out the estimates under Federal you need to click on the State Tab at the top and start the state return over for it to update.

You have to pick the right state from the drop down box and enter the right payment dates.

To enter your estimated tax payments select the following:

Federal
Deductions and Credits
Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
Estimates
State Estimated Taxes.

That is FEDERAL the question is about OHIO State

You enter state estimated payments on the federal side. One reason is because they can be a federal deduction if you itemize. In fact you enter most everything under the federal side and it will flow to the state.

There is section that you select that says State estimated taxes for 2025. That is where you enter your estimated tax payments that you made for your Ohio estimated tax payments.

Okay, I know it is midnight here, and I am bit slow, but that has to be one of the worst bits of human-factors engineering I've seen in the past 35 years.
