      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/5981607"&gt;@hakeem11701&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;For part year residents of SC (which you are), and for the tax year you move, SC has their PY residents file either:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1)&amp;nbsp; As a full year resident taxing all income.....but allowing you to take a credit for taxes paid to the former state.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;or&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2)&amp;nbsp; File a Non-resident tax return for the entire year, and then,&lt;EM&gt; during the SC interview&lt;/EM&gt;, you allocate what sub-portion of your Federal income was earned after moving to SC.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;__________________&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Make sure you are &lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;EM&gt;NOT&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt; using Option #1, since you get NO credit for income taxes paid to FL since you didn't pay any income taxes to FL.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Make sure you are using Option #2.....and that you have completed the SC income allocation process during the SC interview.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
