Am ready to file my 2025 taxes and when I reviewed the Idaho State Tax I see that the senior grocery tax credit is $155 when it should be $250 for 65 and older.

Nevermind. The senior needs to submit receipts to receive the $250 instead of the standard $155.

The $250 is the new itemized credit while the $155 is the standard credit for which you do not have to submit receipts. TurboTax does not have the option to claim the $250 credit because of the receipts, so it defaults to the $155.

If you want to claim the full $250 using TurboTax, you cannot efile- you will have to print then manually adjust the Food Tax Credit line using the Idaho Food Tax Credit Worksheet which can be found at Idaho Food Tax Credit (Note it is being updated and not available at this time. You can then attach your receipts to the return and mail them in.
