2025 New York State Efile error R0148

Im using TurboTax online Premium 2025. My federal return was accepted by the IRS. My New York State return has gotten rejected twice for error code R0148 - The state of New York could not process your return for electronic filing because of missing Spouse Signature Check box on the New York E-File Declaration statement. The system says there are no errors with my taxes. The AGI is fine, I selected a PIN. Turbotax tech support was unable to do anything to fix the issue. Has anyone else seen this issue and resolved?

Also having this issue. I think there is a bit of a bug and I may hold off on NY filing for a few weeks to see if they fix...

I think you’re right. Very frustrating that tech doesn’t seem to acknowledge. A word of caution: I decided to switch to “file by paper” just in case and printed my return. Now when I go back into the online portal it looks like I’m locked into that option and can’t even try to fix the Efile situation anymore. Maybe I’m missing something but don’t switch to paper unless you really have to.

Sounds like they have temporarily blocked NY State filing because of the bug but no formal announcement on when it will be fixed!

Ok, I guess that’s a good thing. I should have been more patient because I switched to paper and it doesn’t look like I can switch back.

What a mess - obviously they dont communicate with each other because the tech im on with right now doesnt have a clue.

The woman claims it is now a "known issue" and they will fix in a few days and I should call back to check. If any of you who also got this new york R0148 error (spouse signature) file today or within the next few days and it is successful, please post an update here.

Same issue here! I tried fiddling with things a few different ways to see if I could get it to work on a refile, but no luck so far. I think it's just flat out broken.

I filed 2 days ago, federal accepted same day, NY state keeps coming back with this error code - twice so far. After reading all these replies I am glad I am not the only one because I was going crazy lol. Its a glitch and they better fix it soon. Maybe we should wait couple of day before refiling. Good news! I just got off the phone with Turbo Tax support, the rep acknowledged that they've received several reports about this issue and currently expect to have a fix in place by 2/12.

Thank you for the update - fingers crossed that it happens on 2/12. I wished they would acknowledge it more formally but Im thankful that I raised it here and see it wasn't just me. I have also reached out to them on X at turbotaxsupport.
