Your W-2 from your employer should have an entry in Box 18 Local Wages if you had taxes withheld for an Ohio School District. To check this, go back to your W-2 information - If using the app, the instructions below will make more sense if you are logged in to the TurboTax website through a browser on your electronic device.

Go the menu on the left, click on Federal, then Wages and Income.

Click the Add/Edit button for Wages and Salaries (W-2) on the "Your wages and income" page

Click Edit by the W-2

Click Continue on the next screen with the employer information

On the "Now let's update the rest" screen, scroll down until you get to the bottom where you can enter Local taxes.

The Associate state should be Ohio, and Box 18 Local wages & tips needs to have an entry. If you stayed in only one Ohio school district all year, then Box 18 should be the same as Box 16 for State wages, tips, etc.

Box 19 - Local income tax would be the taxes withheld by the school district and Box 20 - Locality name should have the 4 digit school district number in it.

Since you live in Ohio, it is also possible that you had city tax withheld - because of that there may be one or more additional Local taxes lines that appear if you had city tax withheld from one or multiple localities.

If you didn't live in one location all year, but remained in Ohio all year, your Local wages may be different than your state wages if you moved out of the school district. When going through the TurboTax interview for the school district, you will be asked questions about be a part-year resident of a school district, in which case your wages will need to be divided between your residences during the year.

SD100 problem **SOLVED**

**SOLVED** I tried every method, but nothing was working. For some reason, a different box was highlighted and I couldn't fix that. I had all of the information correct, but since the extra box was highlighted, it read it as input. I deleted the W2 and did it again and it worked perfectly.

I keep getting an error on my Ohio return. I go to the "Check This Entry" section. The problem seems to be in the Part B W2s portion. It is where your School District is listed. We have 1 school district listed and that part is correct. It keeps showing another box (W2Box18) is highlighted and there is a flashing cursor. I can't get that extra line to go away. I have included a picture. Of course, I scrolled down so our info isn't exposed. You can see the highlighted box. What can I do?
