    <description>My wife and I are Texas residents.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;I am an active duty military member living and working in Montana.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;My wife is living and working in Montana as well.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;On her W-2, she has MT state income listed.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;My W-2 has the state taxes listed as Texas and I do not have any state taxes.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;B&gt;It depends. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/B&gt;Since you are both&amp;nbsp;&lt;I&gt;Texas residents&amp;nbsp;&lt;/I&gt;because of MSRRA, neither of your income is taxable to any state where you are&amp;nbsp;&lt;I&gt;stationed. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/I&gt;Please see this FAQ with more information on this: &amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3302300" target="_blank"&gt;https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3302300&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Ordinarily, because of this, it would not be necessary to file a Montana return at all if no Montana tax is withheld. &amp;nbsp;(In TurboTax, you would enter&amp;nbsp;&lt;I&gt;no&lt;/I&gt; to the questions if you live and work in Montana, as you are not considered to live or work in Montana when you are stationed there). &amp;nbsp;However, since your wife did (apparently) have MT tax withheld, she will want to file a MT return with zero income to have these taxes returned to her. &amp;nbsp;She will also want to mention to her employers about her residency so that Montana taxes are not taken out going forward.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
