I am a MD resident but work for a company in NJ and that company has my work address as a NJ address. I do not go to that office or work in NJ. I do all of my work from MD. On my first paycheck they withheld NJ taxes for things like Unemployment Insurance, Workforce Development, Temporary Disability Insurance and Family Leave Insurance. If I am requesting to only be taxed in MD can they still withhold these other miscellaneous taxes?

Thanks in advance!

@joemirarchi10 get the employer to change your workcode in their payroll systems to a MD workcode. that will fix the problem.

Otherwise, you are going to have to file a NJ non-resident tax return to get your withholdings back and owe significant money to MD.
