I lived in Georgia for all of 2016. I had a variety of jobs in Georgia. I also taught an online class for a university in Minnesota (the university has a physical presence in Minnesota, but not in Georgia). I never set foot in Minnesota for this job. There seems to be some back and forth on this and other forums about whether or not I am responsible for paying taxes to Minnesota. My accountant is telling me that I do need to pay taxes for Minnesota. However, this is the first year I've heard this. Is this new?

If you lived and worked in Georgia for the entire year (2016) you have no Minnesota income tax liability and are not required to file a return.
