additional state is added when filing

I have entered 2 states which I have lived during 2024. But at the end when I am filing, I see an additional state popping up - Illinois - which I only lived there during 2023 and not 2024 and now I don't know how to get rid of it. on the state tab, it only shows the 2 states I have lived in 2024 but don't know where this third state is coming from

Review your entries:

Go to My Info Section.
Select Edit to the right of your name.
Review the entry for State of residence on December 31, 2024.
Review the entry for I lived in another state.
If filing jointly, review the same entries for your spouse.

Also, review your W-2s lines 15-17and, check if another state income taxes has been withheld.

You can delete your state return in TurboTax Online as long as you haven't paid yet.

Open or continue your return.
Select State Taxes from Tax Home.
On the Status of your state returns screen, select the trashcan icon next to your state, then select Delete.

Are you using the Online browser version or the Desktop installed program?
