I am presented with the following when filling out my Massachusetts state taxes: "Massachusetts Residency: Based on the information you entered on your federal return, you were a resident of Massachusetts for part of 2024. Did you earn income from a Massachusetts source or employer during the time you did not live in Massachustts?"

This is not the case. I was a resident of MA for *ALL* of 2024. I have confirmed this by checking my entries in the federal section, Is there something I am missing?

If I proceed to say "No". I get opens to change my Form to Form 1 which means full residency for the year, but then there are following prompts about how much I made while I was a resident of MA and while a resident elsewhere which does not make sense.

Your residency status flows from your Personal Info section, not the federal section. Double-check to make sure you entered you were a resident of Massachusetts as of 12/31/24 and that the box next to "I lived in another state in 2024" is unchecked.

If your personal info screens are correct, we can look at your return and see exactly what you see to help come to a resolution. The return will be scrubbed and won't include any of your personal details.

If you're using TurboTax Online:

Once you're logged in to your account,

- on the left hand panel, click on Tax Tools and then choose Tools

- on the pop up window, select Share my file with Agent

- you'll see a message saying you'll give us a copy of your tax return. Your personal information will be changed so we can't see any private information.

- click okay and you'll get another message with a token

If you're using TurboTax Desktop:

Click on Online in the top menu of TurboTax Desktop for Windows

Select 'Send Tax File to Agent'

Write down or send an image of your token number and state then place in this issue.

We can then review your exact scenario for a solution

Please reply to this message with your token so that we can further assist you. Let us know all other states, if any, that are included on the return.
