So, one of your lower level tax customer service representatives was able to figure this out. Even though I am a NH resident, she advised me not to check the box that stated My state New Hampshire does not tax all of this interest when inputting the 1099 INT. Also, when you click on "Learn more" about that in blue, it stated there were 6 states which handle the interest differently and only 5 states were listed. Turbotax needs to fix this error. I have to tell you, I spent the entire day on this speaking with CSRs and supervisors, and at 5 p.m. last night, this one person, her name is Nia, knew how to handle this. At one point, a supervisor was telling me I had to upgrade to "Live Tax Advice". I knew I had to pay taxes to my state, but Turbotax was telling me I "owed nothing and everything looked good". Not the case.

I'm trying to complete my return and have put in 1099-INT forms on my Federal return. Filing jointly so I know we are over and above the $4,800 allowance and there is a tax due. My NH return is coming up with zeros on it. Blank. None of the reason codes apply, and the information is not being pulled over to my NH return. These are just simple bank 1099-INT forms. Any thoughts?

To look into this further and try to offer you an explanation, it would be helpful to have a diagnostic copy of the tax return experiencing the issue. You can help by providing the diagnostic tax file.

This file will not contain personally identifiable information, only numbers related to your tax forms. If you would like to provide us with the diagnostic file, follow the instructions below and post the token number along with which version of TurboTax you are using, and what state you are filing in a follow-up post.

To get a diagnostic file in TurboTax Online:

Open TurboTax Online

Select Tax Home in the left pane

Select the dropdown to the right of any topic in the center of the screen

Select Continue or Pick up where you left off

In the left pane, select the dropdown to the right of Tax Tools

Select Tools

Select Share my file with agent

A pop-up message will appear

Select OK

Another pop-up will appear with the token number. Post the token number here

If the TurboTax Online navigation suggested above doesn't look like what you're seeing, see the TurboTax Help article Why does the TurboTax navigation menu look different for me?.
