Hello, I'm really hoping someone can help me out here with my complicated (at least in my head) situation.

I recently moved to Virginia in August (2024) and was previously residing in Illinois. My previous employer however was in Missouri. Last year, I had a problem with feeling like I was getting double taxes and excessively in Missouri, but that's taxes for you. This year, I am facing the same issue except now it's saying that I may have a possible underpayment penalty...owing more than $1k (barely) on them for my Illinois ones.

I just want to confirm that I'm doing this all correctly, and maybe I need to keep reading all these help docs.

I do know that there a few tax documents that aren't ready yet too, so maybe that will help with the numbers, but I'm doubtful yet hopeful.
