Thanks for all the comments, and Yes to SS benefits (not wages) -- from SSA-1099. To summarize, TT would not allow me to enter numbers under me, only spouse. Box 5a was totally locked, and I could not right-click to add supporting detail either, although with the community's guidance I did find I could access supporting detail by clicking the Edit option (top menu). When I did that I saw the supporting detail that TT had carried over from 2022, and it erroneously included data from Form 1116 in 2022 (foreign tax credit) and populated it into the SS Form for 2023. TT is great for almost everything but does not cover Form 1116 scenarios thoroughly so I was not surprised to see that show up as an error in the SS Form for 2023!! Conclusion: I went under Forms and deleted the SS Form and started the Step-by-Step over and it worked fine. Thanks, everyone! What a cool thing this community is! (First time user)

Wife and me both earned SS wages: her for many years now (used TT), me first time 2023. TT is showing both our names in the SS income screen but it will accept only her SS income not mine. No option to override my SS income which is locked at $0. Why?

Are you talking about Social Security benefits on a SSA-1099? If you can't enter your Social Security in the boxes try deleting the form. See this thread for things to try. There are posts for 2023 at the end

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/retirement/discussion/i-keep-attempting-to-enter-both-my-spouse-and-my-ssa-1099-sm-but-turbo-tax-won-t-let-me-enter-any/00/1427062

In the box with $0 income double-click in that box and a Supporting Details window should open where you can enter the correct amount. Or highlight the box and use Ctrl + I to open the Supporting Details window
