What state are you referring to?
What's the precise name of the credit?
If you're not claiming a carryover credit from a prior year, are you claiming the credit this year?

I have the same issue. I am filing NY state return. I have never claimed a wind or solar energy credit. This is prohibiting me from filing me state return electronically.

There may have been a mis-entry of information of data at some point, but, to delete any erroneous data in the New York interview portion of TurboTax Online:

Open TurboTax Online
Select Tax Home in the left pane
On the Hi, let's keep working on your taxes! screen, select the dropdown on the right side of the State Taxes box, then select Start, Continue, or Pick up where you left off
Select Edit to the right of New York
Proceed through the state interview until you come to the Take a look at New York credits and taxes screen.
Scroll down to Other Tax Credits, and select Start or Update to the right of Nonrefundable Credits
On the Nonrefundable Credits page, delete any entry next to Solar and Wind Energy Credit Carryover
Select Continue
On the Take a look at New York credits and taxes screen, select Continue

I'm also having the same issue for Mass. Love in NH, work in MA and the solar credit won't give me option to delete but at the end of keeps telling me to switch my address to MA for the solar credit. Any idea?

Are you trying to delete the solar credit, or are you trying to get the credit? You can delete the worksheet from the Forms list. Your state forms are listed under the federal forms when you view the list. See instructions, below. @Deemarie1223
