      <description>&lt;P&gt;Not sure what state you mean----there is no "TP"----but you enter your 2022 state refund received in 2023 IF you itemized deductions (like mortgage interest, property tax, etc)&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;on your 2022 federal return.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Look at line 12 of your 2022 Form 1040.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Do you see the standard deduction or did you itemize?&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; If you took standard deduction you do not enter the state refund.&lt;/P&gt;

TurboTax needs to know if this refund is taxable, so it asks about your deductions in 2022, as xmasbaby0 described.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
