topic MD (502) Part Year resident tax increases for MD after adding WA W2? in State tax filing

My spouse and I left the state of MD mid year and moved permanently to WA, which has no state income tax. When I added her W2 for WA income, the state return for MD went from a positive number (as an example $300) to negative (-$300), which I am assume is calculating we owe money. This makes no sense since all of MD resident taxes while earned in MD had previously shown a refund. I am going to assume this is some type of bug? If I could see the filled forms I might be able to make sense out of it but cannot, unless someone knows how to do so. I probably won't use TT if this is the case as I would likely just use the MD site.

If I understand your question, you first entered all your Maryland income and then you added your wife’s W-2.

Maryland has an income subtraction for part-year residents. Did you enter your wife’s Washington income as a subtraction?

You’ll see a screen “Additional Info or Part-Year Residents

In the box for Non-Maryland Income, enter all your Washington income (wife’s W-2 and the portion of other income such as interest and dividends not earned while living in MD).

If you preview/print your forms by paying for TurboTax and any changes before filing.

Ahh - thank you very kindly! It's very strange, I am not sure how I missed that extra screen.
