You had to e-file the state tax return at the same time as you e-filed the federal return or the state return had to be e-filed by you after the federal return was e-filed and accepted by the IRS.

If the status of the state return is anything other than Accepted you will have to print and mail the state return.

Did you e-file your state tax return and was it accepted?

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".

After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund. Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.

To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.

If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund

To access your current or prior year tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

A 2021 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.

Print, sign, date and mail the tax return to the state. Include with the mailed return any forms W-2 and 1099 which have taxes withheld. Go to your state website for mailing addresses for the state income tax return.

There are no penalties for filing a tax return after the due date if filing for a tax refund or there are no taxes owed.

What version did you use and the Online or Desktop program? If you used the Desktop Basic program it does not come with a state program. You have to buy the state program for $39.99. Then pay another $20 to efile state (or print and mail for free).

SO your site lied to me when it informed me that my state taxes were filed free of charge. Will NEVER use you again since your site lied to me and ended up costing me over $600 that should of been refunded to me.

I am on Social Security and do not have to file taxes but need the heating credit and homestead credit since my income is under $10,000 a year, YOU try living on $800 a month and pay all of your bills bet you can't.

I am going to report you to the Federal Government FBI for fraudulent use of the internet. You can pay the fines whoich is more than you ever dreamed it could be for providing fraudulent information on your site. I printed out your entire site so I do have the proof the FBI Fraud Unit needs to prosecute you for internet fraud.

Fred Higgins

Per the Michigan tax website, you have four years from the original due date of your MI tax return to file for the Homestead Property Tax Credit. Also, if you're not required to file a Michigan tax return, you can submit MI Form MI-1040CR by itself, in order to claim the credit.
