Cost for State Returns

I need to complete a second state return to complete filing for 2021. Turbo Tax offers to complete that return for $45. does that cost include the E-file fee or is that just for access to the state forms and software? If not included, what is the state E-file fee for MA?

If you are using online software, the $45 fee is the total price, whether you choose to paper or e-file. If you are using TurboTax Desktop (CD/Download), then the fee is to purchase the state software package and install it. There may be a separate e-file fee, (likely $25), or you can print and mail at no additional charge.

If you are using desktop software there is an added fee of $45 just for an additional state program. If you e-file a state return it will cost you $25 to e-file it---or you can print and mail it for the cost of a stamp.
