State Tax Filing help after moving from MD to WA state

In 2021, until February, I was a resident of Maryland. Then I moved to Washington State and became a resident. How should I file my state taxes? Can someone guide me?

For the entire 2021 my W2 income was taxed for Maryland state.

You need to file MD part-year resident return. Only Income earned while living in MD is taxable on your Maryland Return.

WA doesn't have income tax.

My W2 for 2021 is taxed for Maryland state for the entire year. How can I split the amount between MD and WA?

I will recommend three steps. Please try each before moving to the next.

Go through both the MD (Reduce the income), and WA (increase the income) in the respective interviews.
Include WA in box 15, and complete the process above.
Directly allocate the MD / WA income in box 16 of the W-2.

Start in the federal interview under the "Wages & Income" tab.

You will choose what you work on.
Select the "Wages and Salaries form W2" topic.
Enter your form W2 information exactly from your copy of the form W2.
"Done with income"
Answer any follow on questions
"Continue"
"State Taxes" tab
"Continue"
"Start/Update" your MD return
"Edit" the "Income" topic
At the bottom of the page "Done with Income"
Next page you will be asked to enter the income from non-MD sources.
Divide the W2 income by 12 and multiply by the number of months in WA to arrive at the WA income.

WA does not have a state income tax so you will not have a tax return for WA.
