Turbo Tax Desktop is telling me I need to download a State to complete my Tennessee state taxes. When I try download the package it just says my software is up to date and does not download the state. I have a feeling this is because Tennessee repealed the Hall Income Tax and Tennessee is now a no state income tax state. I feel that Tennessee should be added to the list below. Is this a bug in Turbo Tax or am I missing something?

https://www.tn.gov/revenue/taxes/hall-income-tax.html

You are correct. Tennessee should be added to the list of states that do not have an income tax.

Take a look at the following TurboTax help article for confirmation:

Which states don't have income tax?

When will the software be updated to reflect this?

There is no state return to download. In this case, you should just skip the state return.

Are you unable to proceed in the program without downloading a state return?

I can proceed without filing a state return but the program still instructs users to download a state file and Tennessee is not listed as a tax free state I would consider this a bug in the software that should be patched
