      <description>&lt;P&gt;First check all of the income amounts and tax withheld amounts you entered from boxes 16 and 17 of your W-2's.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Make sure they are correct.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;If you did not make a mistake with those, then you could print out your 2020 and 2021 state returns and compare them to see what is different.&amp;nbsp; No one in the user forum can see your return so we could only guess.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;The usual reason for owing the state is that you did not have enough state tax withheld from your paychecks during the year.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P class="p1"&gt;You must pay your state tax due using the state’s preferred method of receiving payment.&lt;SPAN class="Apple-converted-space"&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;For most states that will be by making a payment to the state’s own tax website, or by mailing a check or money order.&lt;/P&gt;
