You will be asked to confirm your mailing address as of December 31, 2021 and if it was your permanent home address . If you say "No", the next screen will ask for your home address on December 31, 2021. Your taxes based on where you lived while working in New York will be addressed based on this information and information on your W-2 form and questions you will be asked as you work through the program.

It appears that it asks for the prior address on same page where there is no field to respond. So it’s confusing. It’s actually not even on next screen, but several screens later.

The first screen is simply asking you to confirm if the address on your federal return was your permanent address as of December 31, 2021. If you answer no, then you have to enter your permanent address as of December 31, 2021.
