My husband and I are married filing separately. I am almost done with my state return and it is asking for my husbands 2021 AGI referencing what line it is on the 1040.

I am guessing if I put mine on hold and go complete his return it is going to ask for my 2021 AGI which I can't get until I have his.

How am I supposed to finish filing if I'm stuck in this loop? It specifically says the 2021 return agi.

Your 2021 AGI is on your federal tax return, on Form 1040 line 11. Finishing, or not finishing, your state tax return is not going to change your federal AGI. As long as your federal tax returns are complete, you can get both your AGI and your husband's AGI from the federal returns, then finish your state returns.

Ok. I always go in order as turbo tax takes me through, so we can complete and file federal prior to state?

Yes, you can file your federal return before the state. But in your situation you don't have to file the federal. Just look at it to get the AGI, then finish your state returns. Then you can e-file federal and state together.
