Why does this keep telling me I have a Detroit, Mi city tax return when I never once worked their in my life and no where is it giving me the option of clicking on the city I recieved taxes in. Please someone help

Check a few things in TurboTax.

W-2. Check Box 20 on your W-2 (Locality name) to see if 'Detroit' was accidentally coded.

Remove/change the locality name if 'DET' is entered in error.
If your employer withheld Detroit City tax in error, you will have to file a Detroit return to receive a refund.

Michigan section. Check the Michigan section. There are two places with check boxes where check marks will create a city return. If Detroit is checked, uncheck it.

Deleting Detroit

To delete a Detroit City return (Form MI-5118) in TurboTax Online:

Click on Tax Tools in the left column
Then Tools
In Tools Center, click on Delete a form
Delete Form MI-5118
