When I go onto the IRS website under amended returns it is still displaying that it has not been received. How long does it take to show up in there system and how long does it take to get the refund?

It should show up after about three weeks. Did you mail it using a service that tracked it like UPS or certified mail so you know it was received?

That's not uncommon this time of year, the backlog of paper filed forms (mostly people that filed their original too soon and forgot to include certain items so they had to amend) can be overwhelming for the human processing staff. Its generally best to put some form of tracking on the envelope so you at least know it made it there, I had an amended return a couple years ago that took over 2 months to show up as being recevied

It takes about 4 months to process Form 1040X.
