You e-filed on the day after the IRS began to accept 2018 returns. some early returns are subjected to a lot of extra scrutiny to prevent fraud and identity theft. That might be the case for you. But first, have you determined that it was accepted?

    https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 20a of your Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

your situation is not uncommon. i've seen many posts from people who filed as soon as efile opened and now are awaiting their refunds.

it is entirely possible that the IRS computers were not really ready to process these early returns. in addition many claimed credits or other items that the IRS needs to match to paperwork that had not yet been filed.

you could call IRS if return was accepted

800-829-1040

First choose your language.

Then 2

Then 1

Then 3

Then 2

You should then be transferred to an agent, but there is likely to be a long wait.
