Tried to file amended 2025 return via TurboTax - rejected both times

I tried to file an amended 2025 tax return via TurboTax and it was rejected two days in a row with this message:

/Return/ReturnData/IRS1040X/NetChangeOrigRptOrPrevAdjGrp/TotalAdditionalDeductionsAmt - Data in the return is missing or invalid.

A TurboTax advisor said the explanation is, "Return cannot be filed due to a processing error that can be corrected on March 6."

Wondering if any of you experienced this?

This TurboTax error is regarding additional deductions. It often can happen when the "original" and "amended" amounts aren't properly populated. This will leave the "net change" column blank or incorrect.

Can you clarify your situation?

Why did you amend the return?
What new entries did you make?
Did you run both the Federal and State reviews?

Thanks for helping me! I amended because after I successfully filed my tax returns, I received a 1099-NEC that increased my income. I added in the information in the 1099-NEC; that was the only change I made. Yes, I ran a review of both returns; the state amended return was accepted but not the federal.

Your return cannot be filed at this time due to a processing error that will be corrected on March 6, 2026. On or after this date, open the rejected return, review it for errors, and resubmit the return for electronic filing.

Yes, I've had the same problem. How did you find out the software glitch will be fixed by March 6? And how will we know when it has been fixed? By the way, my state amended return was accepted; only the federal amendment was rejected.

When you review the 1040X, the numbers in Column A should match your original return. Column B will have the amounts for any changes you made and Column C will have corrected amounts.

At the bottom, check the amount you were refunded with your original return on Line 18. Here's more info on How to Amend Your Tax Return.
