The Form 1040-X for amending a 2025 federal tax return is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 03/04/2026

An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

Hello -- I am using the amend module, and it says I have a 1040-x form in my print center, but the pages are blank when I go to view them. Is there a bug causing this or is there something I need to do?

My return does not have a change in income, refunds, new taxes; I am simply trying to file an 8606 form (for 2025) I mistakenly forgot to include in my existing 2025 return. My return has already processed.

Your 1040X was blank because nothing changed.

You aren't required to file an amended return to submit a missing or corrected Form 8606. You can file it alone by mailing it directly to the IRS.
If you receive a letter, it'll have instructions.
