    <description>&lt;P&gt;Eight weeks is not very long at all, for an amended return. &amp;nbsp;I believe the IRS says eight to twelve weeks is normal; however, you shouldn't be surprised if it takes 16 weeks, or more. &amp;nbsp;As you mentioned, it's the middle of tax filing season, so that's their priority. &amp;nbsp;That said, they could process it next week.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>When does IRS update "Amended Return Status" website?</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I've sent in my Amended Return on 1040x about 8 weeks ago (and they received my certified mail), but there is still nothing when I search on&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://sa.www4.irs.gov/wmar/" target="_blank"&gt;https://sa.www4.irs.gov/wmar/&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;The Dashboard (&lt;A href="https://www.irs.gov/help/processing-status-for-tax-forms" target="_blank"&gt;https://www.irs.gov/help/processing-status-for-tax-forms&lt;/A&gt;) Says they're still processing 1040 based forms from the month before, so perhaps they just haven't gotten to it yet?&lt;BR /&gt;Seems like there would be some update on the Amended Return Status page tho?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
