I know they need to take their fees but that is not $1000 so why does it say that? Also my receipt page says there is nothing to show and it said the other day the fees I am feeling like I’m being ripped off

Your refund may have been offset. The IRS and state governments can intercept refunds to pay for certain past-due debts (such as back taxes, child support, or student loans).

How to check for an offset:

The IRS Hotline: Call (800) 304-3107 for automated details regarding tax offsets.

Official Notice: You will typically receive a letter in the mail explaining the specific debt and the amount withheld.

If you used "Pay with Refund":

If the IRS "Where’s My Refund" tool shows your funds were released but you haven't received them, please note that Intuit does not hold these funds. You will need to contact the Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG) directly:

Website: SBTPG Support

We cannot tell what you are looking at or where you are finding the amounts you mention. What is on line 35a of your Form 1040? Does that match the amount that the IRS refund site says they are issuing to you?

What does the "summary" on your TurboTax account say? Sometimes users get very confused by the summary which nets out the difference between a federal refund and state tax that you owe. What does it say on your state return? Are you getting a state refund or do you owe tax due to the state?
