The app is saying they are updating the app to the new laws but I need to add my husbands w2 to the filed forms

The Form 1040-X for amending a 2025 federal tax return is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 02/25/2026

An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

It is too soon to amend your return now. ‌Once your return is fully processed, you can amend as soon as the federal amended tax return form 1040-X is available for filing in TurboTax. The IRS might automatically correct for the missing W-2, and then you would not need to amend.

Use this tool to check availability of forms, including 1040X: Tax form availability. Currently, it is projected to be available 2/25/26.

sorry amended returns will not be doable until around 2/25/2026 or later, depending on when the 1040-X is finalized. However, wait. The IRS might catch the missing W-2 nd reject your return. In that case you can add that W-2 and refile. If accepted, amending is your only option.
