You will need the name and SSN of who it was paid to.

The Child care deduction is limited by the income on the return and then number of children, so I cannot answer for sure if it will help but I would amend the return and find out.

The Child and Dependent Care Expenses are a non-refundable credit. So, if you look at line 11 of your 1040 this will help you figure out if you should try to amend your return. If the amount is $0, you will not get anything more back by amending so you could stop and not amend.

If line 11 is more than $0, then depending on the rest of your situation, you may get a refund so then you would want to try Amending. Just remember the amended returns need to be printed and mailed. They cannot be e-filed.
