Are you using the refund amount from line 35a of your Form 1040?

Sometimes people get confused by the “summary” given by TurboTax and use the wrong amount for the federal refund. Make sure you are only using the federal refund amount, and not an amount that combined your federal and state refunds.

In the IRS federal tax refund website, you must enter your Social Security number, your Filing Status and the exact amount of your federal tax refund as shown on the Form 1040 Line 35a
