Here's how to download the *.tax2015 data file from Onlin...

Here's how to download the *.tax2015 data file from Online TurboTax. If it was prepared in a paid edition in 2015, then you should have access to it. If it was prepared in Free Edition, access will be locked until you pay for a 2016 product (we can tell you how.)

Log in using the same User ID that was used for the 2015 return.
Go to the 2015 Tax Timeline.
Scroll down to "Some things you can do."
Choose "download *.tax file".
