Yes, your state fee does cover the correction of your return if it is rejected.

I understand the AGI was incorrect.
What problem did you have correcting it?

I am forced to talk to a robot and the robot answers my question with > I need to file an ammemndment. I need to go on line with the Irs and make the change. I need to go to line 11 and chang my 1040. None of the anwers are the coorect answers. So I need a person and not a robot to find out how to correct it. It was never sumbmitted so doing an ammendment with the IRS is not what I need. Advise. C,

I'm a bit confused, but are you saying your state return was rejected due to last years AGI entry? If so, you do not need to file an amendment, you need to correct the state return and resubmit.

Some states do not use the Federal AGI, but your state AGI. If this is the case you will be asked this in the State interview. Check your last year state return for this information. If you amended your last year state return this number may have changed from the AGI on your original state return.

If you can't resolve this reject, you may need to mail your state return.

Let just say I put in the wrong AGI number and bc of that the STATE rejects my return. How do I change the AGI to FIX the return. Please do not say to contact IRS and amend the statement. It has not been submitted. I need to FIX the state income tax retur

To fix this error, go back to your state return and please follow these steps carefully, :

Make sure you have entered the previous year's AGI correctly
Verify your PIN
Make sure to enter all 8 digits (This is not your 5 digit federal PIN)
Verify your drivers license or state ID number is entered correctly
If it is your first year filing with your state, you will have to enter your Drivers License or state ID information
Enter each field exactly as it is on your Driver's License or state ID (First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Suffix (leave blank if necessary), and weight
You may not use an out-of-state or expired drivers license
You may need to print and mail your return if the reject continues after re-transmitting
