In 2021 I filed my taxes for the 2020 tax year. Both my federal and state tax refunds were accepted. It said that I was supposed to receive a federal refund of $1,800. I put my direct deposit information on to my tax filing paperwork. I e-filed online. I never received a check to the address that was listed on my tax refund paperwork. And I never received my direct deposit. What can I do now? I was informed that I will still receive this money because my paperwork was filed correctly and I was approved for the refund. For whatever reason I never received it, but I am supposed to. It was told that I will still receive it. What can I do / how do I go about getting the refund re-issued to me?

Who informed you that you will get it?

2020 $1,800 was for the Recovery Rebate Credit on 1040 line 30 for the first 2 stimulus checks. 1040 line 30 is only if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more. If you claimed a missing stimulus payment on your return but the IRS took it off you have to ask the IRS. They think they already sent it to you. Maybe it went to an account you don't remember. Or you got a check or a card. It was probably easy to miss the debit card in the mail and think it was junk mail. They have to put a trace on it. You can log in to the IRS and see your account if they sent it to you.

Did you file as Single? That would be 1200+600=1800

EIP1 The first Stimulus payment was 1,200 for each spouse and 500 for each dependent under 17.
EIP2 The second Stimulus was 600 per person and dependents under 17. The 2nd stimulus checks started going out at the very end of December 2020 and continued into January/Feb 2021.
The first 2 Stimulus payments went on your 2020 return even if you got the second one in Jan/Feb 2021.
