I have completed my return but the end results do not match. Last year it was smooth and I was able to sewnd the return elcetronically but this time This time the result numbers don't make any sense.

you are going to have to provide more information, you may have entered something incorrectly or it could be a Turbotax bug. compare the 2023 return line for line with 2024 and then post back in this thread to tell us the form or schedule and line number that doesn't make sense. this forum has no access to your return or documents. you may have to upgrade to get live help to review your return.

Following are details from Turbo's analysis of my return. I am afraid the error could cause problems with my return. The Line 1z is foreign earned income which should be excluded. I did this last year without problems. Not sure why we have a negative number on Line 9, Schedule 1.

The tax withheld of $1607 on form 1040 is greater than or equal to -$5838, the sum of income from the following sources.

Line 1z $34,231.

Line 6a Social Security $28393

Schedule 1 Line 9 Other income -$68462
