2024 tax return still not processed

I mailed my paper federal tax return in March 2025, but my IRS account still shows "Your 2024 Tax Return Is Not Processed." When I check my refund status, it says "Refund status unavailable." All I know is that the IRS cashed my check in March. I need my 2024 tax transcript for immigration purposes. What should I do? I tried calling (800) 829-1040, but it's always an automated voice system, and I can't reach a real person.

If you owed tax due nothing is ever going to show up on the refund site. That site only shows information for returns if you are getting a refund. Have you checked your online account with the IRS?

I already check my IRS online account, it shows " 2024 tax return not processed" for almost 3 months without any update, and I don't see my 2024 tax transcript in my online account.

according to IRS operational status, they are at least two months behind on paper returns,

so your experience is consistent with that delay.
