Amended returns

I just finished my amended return from 2022. But when I printer it for filing, the top still says 1040SR, not 1040X. How do I get the 1040X printed?

Are you sure you amended the tax return?

Go to Forms mode and see if there is a Form 1040-X showing in the list. Or go to the File section and select Preview of the PDF and select all forms and worksheet for printing. See if the 1040-X is listed.

If there is no Form 1040-X then you did not amend the 2022 tax return. You will need to remove your changes so that the original tax return can be amended.

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home & Busines)

Click on Other Tax Situations

Under Other Tax Forms

On Amend a return, click on the start button
