Checking an amended tax return

I filed an amended return for my 2024 taxes but have not received any confirmation from intuit that it was filed. How will I know if the amended return actually went through or I made some type of error in doing the return?

You should get some sort of confirmation. Did you efile it?

I did efile but saw no confirmation.
I had to pay so I will wait until the 15th and see if the funds are debited from my account. If not, I will wait the 3 weeks and check the irs site. If still nothing, I guess I will file again.

There has been some problems with filing Federal Amendments on a MAC.

There is a workaround that has worked.

This workaround, unblocks and resets the efile status for the tax return which could be achieved.

You need to change the SSN to dummy SSN (like all zeros in ssn) and perform check efile status, then re-enter your real SSN afterward. The steps are listed below.

Steps:

Change SSN to dummy SSN (like all zeros in ssn) in personal info
Go to File tab and perform efile status check -> No status will be displayed
Changed SSN back to original SSN
Go to File tab and perform efile status check -> Will/Should show correct status for the filing
Go to file a return section and file amend return, the product will allow to file amend return now.
