You cannot change banking information while your return is in pending, nor can you change it after the return is accepted. The IRS does not allow it.

I understand, but I haven't filed my return yet. I don't want to confirm payment and risk the refund being sent to the wrong account.

I am having the same issue. My bank account number is incorrect. I've logged into 3 different browsers and there is no option to edit the number. I have not filed yet.
