No, you do not need to do anything else to receive the refund on your originally filed return. If adding the IRS interest income to your return did not change your refund, you do not need to file the Amendment.

I filled my return. Then I received as 1009-INT from the IRS, so I did an amendment. The first time I filed it showed an overpayment. When filling the amendment it asked about the original overpayment. I haven't received the first overpayment. The amendment states no overpayment was done. I'm not sure if I filled something wrong. Am I going to received the first overpayment, since that part wasn't effected. I added the income but that didn't change the overpayment.

You need to wait until you get the refunds from your original returns before sending the amended return. Also when filing it, you need to enter the overpayment amount from your original return. ‌If the amended return shows no overpayment (and you entered the original overpayment amount), then it means that the interest you added didn't make a difference on your return.
