I was asked to enter a file date when I was preparing my MD state tax. Then I was told I owe state tax and may get charged interest based on the file date I entered. So I am trying to change my file date to an earlier date to reduce the interest. Thanks.

Continue through MD until you reach A few things before we wrap up.,,
Locate Interest on Underpayment of Taxes
Edit/ Revisit
Enter the new date you will pay.
You can pay online today, Online Payment
