im filing state returns for two different states. whenever I get to the massachussetts one my income salary seems to be the same exact as federal gross income instead of it being just the massachussetts income summary hence inflating my income. I have worked to triple check the w2 sections and the figures look right but massachusetts summary keeps inflating

If you were a Massachusetts state resident for all of 2025, you would see the total income for the Massachusetts state income. The credit for tax paid to another state should apply so the correct amount is taxed. If this is not your situation, please reply to this post.

I made about 10 in ma and about 6k in ny. state taxes were not withheld on either. federal return was about 800. Ma says I owe 494. Ny says I owe 195. when going through the return process Ma gave me a summary of 16k ish as income summary but I only made 10k in Ma. I dont understand what's happening. my w2 is correct and have checked so many times

If you lived in MA and NY in 2024, you need to file part-time resident return for each state and allocate your income between the two states.

you need to make sure you've set up your personal information correctly in TurboTax.
