Basically accepted the free version with an order number. How can I reset my federal because we don’t have w2 information yet.

Are you asking about 2024 or 2023 or prior? You can’t file 2024 yet. Not until January. And 2024 is not fully ready yet. There will be lots of program updates.

If you are asking about 2023 and it was filed and Accepted you will need to file an Amended 1040X return to fix it and add any missing info. How to Amend a prior year

Sounds like something confused you. It is not even possible to e-file a 2024 return at this time. E-filing for 2024 has not opened. You may have entered some information into the 2024 software, but it has not been e-filed. When you have your 2024 W-2's etc. you can come back to your account and add the information. You *might* need to click on "add a state" to get back in.

E-filing will not be possible until sometime in January 2025. If you file before the IRS begins to accept returns, your return will just sit on a server, waiting for the IRS---going nowhere.

2024. I just don’t want it filing with no information. It took me to checkout basically with an order number.

Did you buy the Desktop download like Basic, Deluxe, Pemier or Home & Business? What does your order say you paid for? Did it give you a 16 digit License Code? If you bought the Desktop program you need to download it and install it on a full Windows or Mac computer.

When you have the info you need for filing 2024, you should be able to Sign In and Continue with your return.

It has not been Efiled yet.

Here's the steps to finish your return:

1. Sign In to TurboTax Online

2. Click "My TurboTax" menu

3. Select "Visit My Tax Timeline"

4. Under the "SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO" heading, choose "Add a state" (you're not really adding a state, this allows you to get back into your return).

5. Complete/correct as needed.
