I am trying to refile, print and mail my 2018 return but it will not open or print from the online version?

Why are you trying to re-file a 2018 return? It is years too late to receive a refund for 2018; any refund has been forfeited and will not be paid to you. However, if you owe tax due for 2018 it owed with late penalties and interest.

You should be able to access your return using the exact account and user ID that were used to prepare it.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

If you have a file ending in .tax2018 you need the 2018 program installed to open it. But you can’t get 2018 anymore or install it. You need to download the pdf file from Online.
