Amending 2023 return but TT does not populate with data from my original return

I need to file an amended 2023 tax return.
I filed original 2023 return using TT Deluxe Desktop. It was accepted by the IRS.
When I go into my TT account and click Amend a Return, TT does not populate the 1040X with any data from my original return. Why not?
TT shows zeros in column A "Original Amount reported".

TT should populate the 1040X with data from my return so I can fill in Column B Net Change with the new information.
Please tell me how to correct this.

Why did you log into your online account? Did you use the wrong instructions? You need to start by opening your original return in the Desktop program. You need to amend the same way that you did the original return in the Desktop program on your computer.

To amend the Desktop program. Start by opening your return as usual. Go up to File-Open.

Federal Taxes -or- Personal (for H&B)
Other Tax Situations
last section, Other Tax Forms
Amend A Return - Click the Start or Update button
