An amended tax return is a Form 1040-X, it is not the original tax return. The original tax return is the Form 1040.

We need a better explanation of exactly what you did. It is not possible to e-file an amended return unless the original return was e-filed, so we do not understand why you think an amended return was accepted. And now you are saying you want to file a "regular" return. And.....who is "they" that told you to re-file?
