I bought Turbo Tax through SoftwareDiscountUSA who said that there was a Manufacturer rebate of 50 percent. They gave me no instructions how to get the Rebate. Was I scammed?

We have no idea. You should always be wary of purchasing your software from unknown retailers.

I bought TT Deluxe from them based on same offer. I have a support ticket open with them asking how to get the rebate. They responded by opening the support ticket, but so far crickets on a resolution. Two days and counting. Will be asking them for a refund if nothing new after the New Year holiday.

To claim the rebate, please follow these steps:

Take a screenshot of the filing confirmation email or save a copy of it.

Fill out the rebate form on the website, providing the necessary information such as your name, contact details, and purchase details.
Attach the screenshot or upload a copy of your filing confirmation email as proof of purchase.
Submit the form and wait for the rebate to be processed.

The purchase was made before December 31 by 11:59 PM the rebate is available but you need to also submit the confirmation email showing that they did e-file using TurboTax

I also have 2 tickets opened with no reply ,maybe because of the holiday. I used the blue icon on the right bottom of software usa page. James answered my questions. Still there is a 6-8 week period to get the rebate but as long as it is legit I'm ok with that. Good Luck.

Again----we know nothing here about rebate offers from retailers. But if one of the conditions of getting the rebate is to show that you e-filed, then you are going to wait a bit. The IRS is not yet accepting e-files. You cannot e-file yet. And, even if TurboTax allows users to begin e-filing in early January, those early e-files just sit on a server for a few weeks until the IRS begins to accept/reject them. You need to have all of your 2023 information in order before you file your tax return. Do not rush to file just to get a little rebate for the software.

You must include every 2023 W-2 on the same tax return. Employers have until the end of January to issue W-2’s. Wait until you have all of your W-2’s. Clients, schools, banks, lenders and other financial institutions may not have tax documents such as 1099's and 1098's available until early February. ALL of your tax documents must be entered on the same Form 1040; do not file unless you have entered everything.

I submitted my request for the promised rebate at TurboTaxRebate.com in April and it's almost August and no rebate. Also no response to two requests for status updates. I can only come to one conclusion - this was a total SCAM and I fell for it. I will never buy from SoftwareDiscountUSA and caution you all against the same.

Lea go to there web site and use live chat. They will take care of your rebate within 10 days. I did the same as you, filled out everything but no rebate until I did live chat. The credit card I used was credited 52.50 .This is not a scam!
